Pak Bo-Ra

Abstract
Objective: This study evaluated the effect of the Fear of falling(FOF) on the balance and quality of life(QOL) of elderly stroke patients.

Methods: 19 subjects with elderly stroke patients(12 males, 18 females). without FoF group and FoF group all subjects were assessed using the balance and quality of life before and after.

Results: There was no difference between the balance and QOL scores for the two groups at baseline(p>.05). After 6 months the without FoF group performed significantly(p<.05) better in the balance and quality of life than FoF group scores.

Conclusion: Fear of falling 6 months after the balance and quality of life impacts. The results are suggestive of the need for occupational therapists to consider FoF in managing the needs of post stroke participants experiencing FoF.
